Carnaval, King of Sport


Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, President of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, has presented on February 6, 2012, at the House of Carnival in Nice, the program of the 128th edition of the Carnaval de Nice to be held from 17 February to 4 March 2012. Most important event on the Riviera in winter, and in France, the Carnaval de Nice is one of the three largest and most prestigious carnivals in the world with Rio and Venice. This year's King of Carnival is the King of Sport. An echo of the London 2012 Olympic, as to the Nice sport dynamics.

3rd Show of Collections around the Perfume in Grasse


This exhibition aims to bring together enthusiasts, collectors and anyone interested in the world of perfumery, in the Espace Chiris, a historic site of Grasse perfumery. Visitors can admire or buy bottles, scented cards, powder boxes, miniatures, old papers, books ... from the biggest perfumers: Caron, Roger Gallet, Piver, Gabilla, Orsay, Molinard, Coty, Lubin, Guerlain ... the major glassworks: Lalique, Viard, Dépinoix, Gaillard, Jollivet, Baccarat ...

Angela May and band Kilema enchant La Licorne Theatre

                                    

On Saturday, February 11 at La Licorne Theatre in Cannes was held in the Pan-African Festival, a concert by the singer Angela May accompanied by the group Kilema, with, as preview, the screening of three short films by Malagasy directors.

Angela May, originating from northern Madagascar, has inherited the traditional music of her island. Her unique voice, haunting and profound vehicles colors, rhythms and sounds of her homeland. But her personality and the authenticity of her message make Angela Maya an universal artist, a rare artist.

Nice and Sousse twinning: a hope of cooperation


On the occasion of the 3rd Euromed Cities Network Plenary Session, Thursday, February 9, 2012 the twinning ceremony with of the City of Nice with Sousse (Tunisia) was held at the Villa Massena. Wine, culture and Mediterranean life


Monaco, Monte Carlo, synonymous par excellence with class and elegance and one of the economic and cultural centers of the Riviera, received the fourth edition of the Monte Carlo Wine Festival and Wine Tasting from February 10 to 12, 2012 at the Fairmont Monte Carlo Hotel. A festival designed around a selection of the best international wine productions with guided wine tasting, workshops and market analyzes for wine industry professionals and amateurs.

The Old Port of Cannes harbour station renovated


The new harbour station was inaugurated on February 16 with the presence of Mr Bernard Brochand, Deputy Mayor of Cannes, Mr Eric Ciotti, Deputy Chairman of the Alpes Maritimes Department Council and Mr Bernard Kleyhnoff, President of the CCI. The original building built in 1932 and transformed by the architect Buzzi in the 50s is coming off a year of renovation and upgrading.

Cannes International Games Festival: a festival open to all

Mrs. Cagnat and the Splendid Hotel honored


On February 16 at Cannes City Hall, Madame Cagnat, owner of the hotel Splendid, received in the office of Mr. Bernard Brochand, Deputy Mayor of Cannes, the "Croix de l'Ordre National du Mérite" (Cross of the National Order of Merit) awarded by Councilman Claude Morin. Very moved and present for the ceremony, Mrs Cagnat, surrounded by six of his eight grandchildren, was very moved when receiving this award recognizing an exceptional career, family and associative path.

Inside the new metropolis, the new Nice equestrian center


On February 25, 2012, was inaugurated in the presence of Mr Christian Estrosi, Deputy Mayor of Nice and President of Nice Côte d'Azur metropolis and Mr Eric Ciotti, President of the Alpes Maritimes County Council, the Nice equestrian center new facilities. Located in the heart of the Var Plain and the future "Eco Valley", the equestrian center occupies an area of 10 hectares.

Côte d'Azur athletes honored at Sport Victories ceremony


On February 20, the evening of Sport Victories was held at the Palais Acropolis Nice. Mr  Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, President of Nice Côte d'Azur, has presented a medal to nearly 300 athletes from the Côte d'Azur, representatives of some fifty disciplines. This medal recognizes their 2011 sporting performance  in World, Europe or France Championships, and their national cup wins.
