Mrs. Cagnat and the Splendid Hotel honored


On February 16 at Cannes City Hall, Madame Cagnat, owner of the hotel Splendid, received in the office of Mr. Bernard Brochand, Deputy Mayor of Cannes, the "Croix de l'Ordre National du Mérite" (Cross of the National Order of Merit) awarded by Councilman Claude Morin. Very moved and present for the ceremony, Mrs Cagnat, surrounded by six of his eight grandchildren, was very moved when receiving this award recognizing an exceptional career, family and associative path. Originating from Lyon, Anne-Marie Cagnat is a passionate hotelier: she and her husband Bernard have had a crush for Cannes and in 1974, the couple purchased a three-star hotel near bankruptcy located Avenue Felix Faure. Today, thanks to this exceptional woman, the Splendid hotel boast a fourth star. Indeed, for 40 years this woman has been looking after the establishment of 62 charmingly Rococo rooms.  At a time when all the most luxurious hotels of the city passes from hand to hand of anonymous and impersonal groups, the entrepreneur still cultivates the art of hospitality and admits: "With many of my clients I have privileged relations ". She makes every day the ornamental bouquet of and ensures the smallest detail and despite her age, her vivacity is intact with a desire to always do better.
