Renovation of Nice Equestrian Center
Inside the new metropolis, the new Nice equestrian center
On February 25, 2012, was inaugurated in the presence of Mr Christian Estrosi, Deputy Mayor of Nice and President of Nice Côte d'Azur metropolis and Mr Eric Ciotti, President of the Alpes Maritimes County Council, the Nice equestrian center new facilities. Located in the heart of the Var Plain and the future "Eco Valley", the equestrian center occupies an area of 10 hectares. Funded by the City of Nice and Alliance Cheval (Horse Alliance), the complete restructuring lasted 16 months. Movements areas saw the creation of 6 open-air careers, one for competitions, two for drills and one for training on an area of 14,000 sq.m and an indoor ring an area of 2,100 sqm, thus becoming the largest in the PACA region. In the new stables, 132 boxes were created for a capacity of 189 horses, as well as three sets of shower areas for horses, the construction of five saddlery and 4 club saddlery, the creation in 710 sq.m buildings of a welcoming desk, offices, infirmary, cloakrooms, toilets and showers.
A second phase of works will be carried out with the creation of classrooms and meeting rooms, a club House, the asbestos removal and renovation of 55 boxes of old stables and the destruction of remaining stables, the creation of a guest home and 300 square meters are planned for storage of fodder and food and 300 square meters for storage of equipment.
The total cost of work totaled 6.8 million euros, including the 2.8 million euros participation of the city, and 175,000 euros in aid From the General Council of Alpes Maritimes.
