Yann Arthus-Bertrand Hope

Royalty-Free Sustainable Development Documentaries

World-famous documentarist Yann Arthus-Bertrand launched in Cannes Mipcom a royalty-free production company called «Hope». Following up on his world-success film “Home” and his various audiovisual projects, Yann Arthus-Bertrand has created a new structure, Hope Production. This new company, born from his meeting with Jean-Yves Robin (Robin & Co), will be entirely dedicated to major international environmental issues. Its profits will be reinvested in other audiovisual projects on sustainable development or in the financing of NGO activities. Receptive to the world and representative of everyone’s eco-commitments, it will work with the best professionals on the issues in order to put its productions at the disposal of as wide a public as possible, in all mediums. At the head of this structure, Yann Arthus-Bertrand has launched various productions: a documentary about water in the framework of the World Forum on Water 2012 for France Télévision (90 minutes of prime time), another on the oceans in the context of the Rio+20 Conference (again for France Télévision, 2 x 52-minute programs), and finally, his second long documentary, “Human.” All these projects will take advantage of the same distribution as did “Home” in its day: channel TV broadcast, Internet, cinema theaters, and DVDs. The goal is still the same: to disseminate messages to the widest audience, especially in school and educational networks. And of course there will be film projections in the context of both the Forum Mondial in Marseille in March 2012 and during the Conference in Rio in June 2012. All three projects will feature the aerial sequences for which director Yann Arthus-Bertrand is known, especially of the magnificent landscapes of Austral and Antarctic continents, notably the glaciers and icebergs off the Adélie coast. These projects are financed in part by France Télévision, the Forum Mondial, A.F.D. (the French Development Agency), but also by private partners such as Omega, the Swatch Group.
