Warner Bros. partners with Miptv

The US major, that started renting films through Facebook in 2011, was presenting its whole catalogue for television on its paradisiacal stand on one of the most prestigious beach, facing the Mediterranean in front of Hotel Majestic.

Sam Register, Warner’s executive vice-president creative affairs, announced the development a sitcom format based on Bugs Bunny. The only way to have the most famous but aging  rabbit in the world live again a long life was to make it part of an ensemble, joining other Looney Tunes characters like Daffy Duck, and have them share an apartment and new adventures.

Warner Bros. International TV Production (WBITP) has initiated a partnership with Miptv for sponsoring next April MIP Formats 2012 Fresh Talent Pitch. Andrew Zein announced that WBITP will spend up to €25,000 to develop next year’s Fresh Talent picked-up project with one of its production companies. He said: «We expect the idea which wins through this process to be developed with one of our production office and be distributed by Warner Bros.» WBITP intends to reinforce its position on formats and MIP Formats is a platform for idea discovery and development.
