The Festival de Cannes welcomes and protects threatened creation.


Jafar Panahi and Mohammad Rasoulof, currently subject to legal proceedings in Iran that earned them a sentence of six years in prison and a twenty years ban on employment to which they have appealed, will be in Cannes with two films in semi-clandestine conditions and reached the Festival in recent days.

«Bé Omid é Didar» (Goodbye) by Mohammad Rasoulof (Iran, 2011, 1H40) is selected in «Un Certain Regard» and will be presented Saturday, May 14.

«In Film Nist» (This is not a movie) by Jafar Panahi and Mirtahmasb Mojtaba (Iran, 2011, 1h15 am) is selected for a Special Screening and will be presented Friday, May 20.


Clandestinely sent, Panahi's film arrived in a USB key and Rasoulof’s on a DVD.

Four days to go...


Technicians are always very busy on the Croisette when inside the Palais des Festival, in the Grand Auditorium a whole lot of splendid stars are ready to welcome guest for the Opening ceremony. Some red begins to appear on the most famous stairs in the world.
