Cannes Yacht Club Annual Party
Cannes Yacht Club Annual Party
The Cannes Yacht Club holds its annual party
The Cannes Yacht Club is Cannes' oldest association and celebrated last year 150 years of existence. Its history intertwined with that of Cannes, as Lord Brougham was behind the first regatta contested off our coasts. The Cannes Regattas Society was established in 1860 and its headquarter was at the site of the current JW. Marriott. It is under the chairmanship of Edward Bret that the Cannes Regattas Society took the name of the Yacht Club de Cannes, which, under the current presidency of Mr Jean-Claude Montesinos, has over 600 members.
During all these years, the sailing spirit through its regattas and competitors, kept on enlightening Cannes around the world, and enriched the love story between Cannes and the sea. The way it handles major international championships, its racing school and the world-famous Régates Royales in September, became a brand image. But the if Club is now an institution, among the most important sailing clubs, it is thanks to its members and employee's motivations and hard work.
To the Cannes Yacht Club belong members from eighteen different nationalities most of whom came together for the annual party at the Yacht Club for a delicious barbecue in a spirit of conviviality.
We take this opportunity to show you around the Club House.
