The wood on the rise in Cannes


On March 30 was inaugurated in the presence of numerous personalities including Mr. Bernard Brochand, Deputy Mayor of Cannes and the President of the Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur, the most important wood boiler in the PACA region. This new wood boiler with its imposing 47-meter chimney, whose cost amounted 400,000 euros of work, an upgrading of fire safety and the pyralene transformer replacement, will heat 900 homes in the neighborhood of Ranguin, including a kindergarten. No more smelly odors of oil and the age and non-compliance of the former fuel oil and gas boiler!

The innovation of such a facility in the Alpes Maritime, the second most wooded department in France, will address several issues such as setting standards, controlling investment costs, the price of the guarantee energy and thus to lower occupancy costs over a long period, creating a clean boiler, developing a timber industry in the department, increasing the scope of the contract for maintenance and installation. The cost of the transaction amounted to 176 million excluding VAT: 804,000 euros have been subsidized by the Heat with Europe fund, the ADEME and the PACA region. Dakia funded the addition of up to 960,000 euros. The Dakia society which is the prime contractor for the work, committed for the duration of his contract, which is 20 years, to ensure the management and maintenance of the new facility 24 hours 24 and 365 days year.
