Théoule Palais Bulles Music Festival

Like a rolling bubble on the Esterel slopes

It is in an idyllic setting, in place a suspended between sky and sea, just minutes from Cannes, that stands the Palais Bulles, this completely delirious and futuristic mansion, overlooking the sea, designed and built by the architect Anti Lovag in 1958 and owned by the fashion designer Pierre Cardin since the 70s. The bubbles house, a kind of cave house with portholes, red-ocher colored, nestles in the mountainside, perfectly fitting into the site and blending with the colors of the Esterel. The 1200m2 eccentricity includes a reception room, a panoramic lounge and no fewer than 10 suites decorated by contemporary artists. A swimming pool, basins and an amphitheater seating 500 people complete the estate. Anti Lovag designed this house in harmony with human morphology and ongoing dialogue with nature, with a suite of furniture forced to adapt to countless curves. The sculptor César Palace used to call this palace: the "Great Living Sculpture." Pierre Cardin confides this is his idea of paradise. He organizes fashion shows and this year again, he opened this magical place to theatrical and musical shows in front of 370m2 scene that is now called Pierre Cardin Theatre, as since 2002 it hosts the International Palais Bulles Festival between July and August, in the soft summer nights. A varied program of high quality, deliberately eclectic, is proposed with the aim to attract all audiences, such as the concert Tribute "Rolling Stone"  of August 2, which electrified the crowd, young and adults, with its in frenzied rythmes. The group Gym paid a thrilling Tribute, born by its passion for the Rolling Stones music, mastering its repertoire to perfection, the singer full of the same infectious energy than Mike Jagger, the group performed anthology songs and everything was right: the voice, the gesture, the attitude. From "Start Me Up", "Brown Suger" or "Sympathy For the Devil". Satisfaction guarantee ! The two other concerts were: on July 21 - Olivier Leroy & Gospel Singers and on July 26 - Argentine Tango - Tribute to Astor Piazzolla.

Before the pictures of the Tribute to the Rolling Stones, we offer you a visit of Pierre Cardin’s Palais Bulles. The steel sculptures you can admire in the gardens by the pool are from Jean-Paul Bongibault, an artist living and working in Théoule, patroned by Mr Pierre Cardin.
