The aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle visited the Bay of Cannes
Throughout the weekend of Saturday March 31 to Sunday evening April 1, the french aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle was anchored off the Old Port, one km away from the beaches of Cannes. The Cannois and many tourists present in this season were delighted by this 261 meters long huge visitor as it was the first time, since its commissioning in 2001, that Charles De Gaulle, flagship of the French Navy, stopped in the City of Festivals. Commanded by Captain Oliver Lebas, Charles De Gaulle has left Toulon, its home port, to currently undergo month-long training in the Mediterranean with some 1700 crew members on board. The aircraft carrier can welcome some 40 airplanes, including the famous Rafale.

On April 5, at the Villa Massena, was held the posthumously presentation ceremony by Barnea Hassid, Consul General State of Israel in Marseille, of the medal and diploma of the Righteous Among the Nations to Eleanor and Francis Giribone, represented by their children, Claude and Sylvain Giribone. Miptv to inspire deals
Miptv is the spring market with the freshest international showcase of TV - in all its forms offering opportunities to make deals, create new connections through networking and discover new business opportunities. 11,000 participants from TV & Media have attended the show alongside 4,000 buyers from 100 countries. Miptv 2012 recorded an increase of 25% participation of producers in relation to 2011, with 1220 production companies international accredited to date, including 326 newcomers.

This year again, the Cannes Shopping Festival has enchanted the thousands of guests who attended the fashion shows performed in the Palais des Festivals Grand Auditorium. Over the last 5 years Antibes Yacht Show has been hosting exhibitors from 14 different countries and has featured yachts from 15 to 70m. It has reached the position of being a key boat show in the yachting industry. Inaugurated by Mr. Léonetti, Mayor of Antibes Juan Les Pins and Minister of European Affairs, the show’s 6th edition took place from April 12 to 15, 2012, during which some 13,380 visitors came to admire the 130 yachts on display.

Chateau Eza in Eze: five star perched high in the sky
The medieval village of Eze is now the highest in europe, perched 427 m high in the Mediterranean sky. In 1920, Wilhem of Sweden (1884-1965), the younger son of King Gustave V of Sweden, grand-father of current King of Sweden, visited the village and fell in love with it, conquered by its charm and mildness of living. In 1923 he bought a housing estate from the 14th century that he will call Château Eza and occupy for thirty years. Cannes hosts the Mondial du Rosé
For the ninth edition of the international rosés contest, the Mondial du Rosé with its international jury of fifty professional tasters, among which the most eminent specialists, had taken their quarters at the Radisson Blu Hotel from 27 to 29 April 2012 in Cannes. France of course was represented, but also many countries like the United States, Turkey, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Lebanon, Greece, Chile, Morocco, Germany, or even Bolivia.
