Formed in the late 1990s, Mayday features five great musicians: lead vocalist, Ashin, Monster and Stone on lead guitars, Masa on bass guitar and Guan You on drums.

Their first album " Embrace" was written, produced, recorded, and released in june 1998 by the band themselves, receiving critical acclaim as well as nominator for "Best Band" at the 11th Golden Melody Awards. The tracks "Peter and Maey" and "Ambrace" become the songs in the KTV line up, a position retained up to this today. Their second album, "Viva Love", outsold their first and won them "Best Band" category at 12th Golden Melody Award.

In 2004, Mayday embarked on an ambitious worldwide tour called Final Home - When We Are All Together, which took them to America, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan.

They gained immense popularity, with their concerts in China and Taiwan, selling out within 24 hours, and stadium shows often ending with over 25-minutes encores, or until the power was shut down! After so many unbeatable records of live concert in Taiwan and Asia. Mayday unceasingly achieved the new milestone rock and titled by Taiwan press "The King of Concert", who has just sold out 100,000 tickets of their latest "Nowhere" world tour in Taipei. Mayday's songs are written mostly in Mandarin and some in Taiwanese. Their style gradually evolved from the raw music production of their early songs that tended towards garage rock to the slick production and sprawling anthems that characterize them today.

Mayday are also proud admirers of the Beatles, For whom they cite as influencing their rock music ideals. Armed with eight studio recording albums, numerous awards and concerts, a recent 3D film and millions of fans spread out across China, Taiwan, Asia, US and Australia, Mayday are without doubt destined to become the Beatles of the Chinese World.
