The GETIS 2011
The Getis show has sown the seeds of the Green Growth in Cannes
At the Palais des Festivals of Cannes, the first GETIS show dedicated to the Green Business took place from 3 to 5 February 2011. During the three days of exhibition, 40 companies related to sustainable development, innovative professionals of the Green Growth and members of clusters of countries from the Union for the Mediterranean have exhibited their technologies and know-how. They have met the decision makers of local and regional authorities, concerned with meeting the Grenelle objectives. Outside on the court on the sea front, stretched a whole range of electric cars or hybrid from passenger vehicle to the minibus Be Green zero pollution, equipped with lithium batteries and a ramp for the disabled, and from street sweepers to commercial vehicles, through boats with solar equipment, docked in the port and open to the public. Among them starred the famous Tesla roadster, which for a whopping 95,000 euros takes passionate customers to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. The youngest have been fulfilled since they were trying recreational bikes and scooters with three wheels made available during the event. Some vehicles built specifically for municipalities have already seduced some of them, like the city of Cannes in 2007, who has acquired a compact and quiet sweeper still in duty at the Port Canto. The Voltéis 4x4 fitted with permanent electric 2 motors, is ideal for seaside resorts and beach monitoring.
Also on the program, the visit of passive houses built by the company Ecodom in Mougins. An ecodistrict of 12 villas with 4 in final phase of construction, consisting of buildings whose energy consumption per m2 is very low or entirely offset by the sun and internal supplies issued by operating internal electrical equipment and human occupation, with reduction of about 80% of heating energy costs compared to a new house built to 1995 German already very demanding standards of thermal insulation. The advantages of this ecological construction blocks, made of extruded polystyrene: an estimated 22kw/m2/year consumption, lower than 2020 consumption goals of standards. Outside tours were proposed to professional visitors and journalists like the visit of the water purification plant AQUAVIVA under construction. First carbon-neutral water treatment plant in the world, the purification plant ensures no greenhouse gas emissions. This performance is achieved through a series of ambitious and innovative technical options: wastewater filtering by membranes, bacteria to remove pollutants such as phosphorus and centrifugation to get rid of the muds. The AQUAVIVA station will treat up to 88 000m3 per hour for 300 000 population equivalent, an advanced equipment combining ecology and high technology to have no impact on the environment in the Cannes basin. www.siaubc.fr
Two conference areas inside the Rotunda Riviera dedicated to professionals were the scene of many conferences and workshops. The opening ceremony conference was attended by Mr Sharif Rahman, Algerian Minister of Country Planning and Environment, Mr Bernard Brochand, Deputy-Mayor of Cannes, Mr. Gaspard Milazzo, President of Getis Group, Mr Gilles Pennequin, territorial head of the French Republic Presidency. The workshop of the Sustainable City in the Mediterranean "In the global approach to the draft sustainable community or eco-neighborhood" or "Sustainable mobility: current status and future mobility" were led by major figures such as Louis Negre, Senator-Mayor of the Maritime Alps, rapporteur of the transportation component of the Grenelle II.
Others have discovered the rehabilitation of the eco-district of Ranguin, which emphasizes the quality of life and environment in the heart of an ambitious urban planning project with the creation of public services such as nurseries, multimedia libraries, the implementation of bicycle lanes and a green corridor that takes place during the start of construction of a future shopping center.
