Flore Passion: La Croisette in spring dress
For its new edition, Flore Passion has chosen a theme dear to the city of Cannes, that of sustainable development and use of soil cover plants, in the presence of Deputy Mayor of Cannes Bernard Brochand and Pascale Vaillant Deputy delegated to the environment, quality of life and protection of cultural heritage. Lovers of gardening were all present for this new spring festival at Square Verdun, discovering thirty exhibitors: nurserymen, collectors, associations, producers, landscape gardeners and beekeepers, gathered to explain their work and share their passion of fine gardens to the public and give them advises. As part of its policy of beautifying the living environment of Cannes and its actions in favor of sustainable development, the city that Bernard Brochand called with a tone of pride and tenderness, his "garden city", organizes twice a year this open air show with the aim of encouraging visitors to opt for eco-friendly gardening practices.
This year's focus has been on the choice of plants adapted to Mediterranean climate, on an economical use of water or a controlled use of fertilizers. Discussions were also conducted by columnist Carole Bonnault: she guided visitors to the booth that offered alternatives and answered their many questions.
In the ailes, the rose was in the spotlight among many pink flowers and fragrant plants, succulents or cacti, tree ferns, bougainvillea, hibiscus, orange, lemon, strawberry and even banana trees, all ranged in front of marveled visitors' eyes over their walk through the stands. A successful event that adorned La Croisette in its best spring dress and offered these visitors a relaxing, enjoyable but also informative moment in a haven of greenery on April 15 & 15.
In her speech, Pascale Vaillant thanked the Cannes Faculty of Trades, Mr. Guiton and his students who created and introduced you to the manufacture of fabulous bouquets.
