Delights of Mediterranean Trophy

 

Competition "First Trophy of Delights of Méditerranée"


The President of the jury was Yves Thuriès, one of the most creative chefs of his generation, sacred twice Meilleur Ouvrier de France (MOF) on ice cream, sorbets, frozen desserts and in pastry, confectionery, catering, owner of the Culinary Trophy designating him as Chef of the Year 1979 and author of the encyclopedia reference on "French pastry", translated into several languages and became the reference book for more than two hundred thousand professionals. The culinary competition saw six known in France pastry chefs compete. They had to make a composition on the theme of "Menton lemon." The competition was open to all professionals in the catering trade who are in employment (artisans, workers, trainers) aged 18 years. Each candidate had at his disposal 1 kg of lemons from Menton to realize a sorbet, a tart and a Gourmet Coffee accompanied by 3 delicacies: 1 lemon macaroon, a lemon mousse, a sponge cake with lemon ice. The coffee was provided by Malongo, partner of the competition, which created a "special cru" for the event, selected by a jury chaired by Patrick Raingeard, Chef of Cap Estel in Eze-seaside. The jury consisted of three chefs and three culinary journalists.


The winners of the 2012 edition are:

First: Amaury Guichon, Lenôtre Côte d'Azur - Cannes

Second: Julien Beaulieu, Le Meridien Beach Plaza - Monaco

Third: Yasmina Benabdallah, Intercontinental Carlton Hotel - Cannes
