Chateau Eza in Eze: five star perched high in the sky

Built on on a spur dominating the sea to avoid invasions, the village of Eze was built during the 8th century. Protected by a fortress located at its top, the houses cling to this narrow rocky hill and the medieval village of Eze is now the highest in europe, perched 427 m high in the Mediterranean sky.

In 1920, Wilhem of Sweden (1884-1965), the younger son of King Gustave V of Sweden, grand-father of current King of Sweden, visited the village and fell in love with it, conquered by its charm and mildness of living. In 1923 he bought a housing estate from the 14th century that he will call Château Eza and occupy for thirty years. Today, Château Eza is a luxury hotel recognized as one of the most romantic places in the world. It's by foot we venture into this fascinating "eagle's nest", through narrow, picturesque and steep paved streets, dotted with artists or artisans shops, small boutiques that look like caves. The employees’ welcome is all kindness and simplicity, smile and pleasure to communicate on the Castle history.

At Château Eza, place steeped in history, old stones, architecture and stunning views are the settings of happiness.
