Antibes Yacht Show

Antibes Yacht Show, exceptional yachts in Port Vauban

Antibes Yacht Show is the only brokerage, charter and refit show in spring in the Mediterranean. Over the last 5 years Antibes Yacht Show has been hosting exhibitors from 14 different countries and has featured yachts from 15 to 70m. It has reached the position of being a key boat show in the yachting industry. Inaugurated by Mr. Léonetti, Mayor of Antibes Juan Les Pins and Minister of European Affairs,  the show’s 6th edition took place from April 12 to 15, 2012, during which some 13,380 visitors came to admire the 130 yachts on display. There was a wide variety of units from15 to 49 meters: motor yachts, sailing yachts and catamarans, there was a choice for every budget (from € 200 thousand to tens of millions of Euros). This year, a large number of vessels of 40 meters and plus stood out from the others. They were exhibited by Hill Robinson Yacht Management, Neo Yachting, Blue Navigation LTD,  Unique Yachting Monaco, A7 Rent, Gaspard Yachts,  K & K Superyachts,  International Yacht Collection. The changeable weather simply pushed away curious but did not discourage buyers to come.  Brokers are pleased to have received as in previous years many quality visitors. Some brokers have received offers to purchase or charter (Watkins, IYC, YPI, Power to Sail, Abys Yachting…). The Antibes Yacht Show thus announcing a positive trend for the coming season.

The Refit and the Crew areas have also received many visitors.  The Crew Lounge, sponsored once again by Bluewater Yachting, proposed various and interesting activities, visited by more than 800 crew members. The chef contest won by Richard Atkins of MY Georgia Rose or workshops of floral art, cupcakes or cocktails were great successes. On the terrace of the Bastion Saint Jaume, the Captains’ Lounge remains the dominant view of the entire show. Partners this year, Marina Port Vell, V. Ships and Lloyds TSB were in direct contact with the captains. The new seminar area was a great success. Some time back to back, they welcomed up to 80 people who attended the most interesting debates, including that of Yacht Info organized by ISS, MYBA and PYA on Friday April 13th. The new luxury vehicles’ partner of the show was Modena Motors. They brought a few Ferrari and a Maserati. Exhibited next to the terrace of the restaurant, in front the biggest yachts, they caught everyone’s eyes. The charity Eco Crew’s team managed to educate visitors and exhibitors throughout the show and rose in total (donations and selling cupcakes) € 1,700.
The late night evening, introduced this year for the first time, enabled exhibitors to receive visitors until 9pm. They were many cocktails in the stands, and apparently many good deals were made at that time.

A new France to sail soon for paradisiac cruises

The time has come to offer France a new jewel of the sea: conceived to host around 600 passengers, this 260m long vessel, slender in shape, offers only exterior suites. At the stern, a succession of decks will lead little by little to the sea, located below a large overflowing swimming pool. Between the two superstructures of the ship: a garden full of palm trees covering over 1,500 sqm. In some ways therefore, a cruise on the France will be like a stay on a paradise island.
