Mix’Arts at 3.14 Hotel

Mix'Arts was the evening of preview of the exhibition of works by Yann Couedor, around which other arts came to mix: music by DJ Bob Assolen and songs by Teron Beal and Sly Johnson, and fashion show by Meghane Monatus.

Yann Couedor stages and paints the artists he listen to. Born in 1977, 12 years old Yann falls in love with  Afro-American music and its cultural field. Alongside this passion, he studied Applied Arts in Paris and International Art History at the Cape Town Univesity  in South Africa. In 2004, the artist feels the desire to give a visual dimension to the musical world he so admires. He thus created his first paintings that he shared on the Internet. Since then he has performed a dozen exhibitions of his concept Lissen2MyArt. His works are based on photographs, posters and original press releases in direct link with the painted subject. These documents are then crumpled before being glued to the canvas where the artist will be painted in acrylic.

Teron Beal has put his talents of songwriter at the service of artists like Mya, Deborah Cox, Kelly Rowland, Jamie Cullum or Michael Jackson for whom he wrote "Heaven Can Wait ", a song which appears on his latest album "Invincible".

Sly Johnson has exercised his talents in the group Simple Spirits with Sir Samuel. With the latter, he will participate in the collective Saian Supa Crew from 1997 to 2007. In 2008, a collaboration with the French trumpeter Erik Truffaz has allowed the creation of the album "Paris". In 2010, he released his first solo album "74", year of his birth.

In a research and a willingness to introduce small women in the fashion industry, Meghane Monatus embarks on creating clothes that would fit her style of dress while addressing the needs of small women. Her creations affirm her identity: a romantic style, a touch of dandyism and rock'n'roll attitude.

Yann Couedor’s exhibition will last until June 30, 2011 at the 3.14 Hotel
